Earlier this year, Tricia Murray announced her planned retirement date of 1 July 2022, resigning as CEO of Uplyft. After 18 years of leadership at Uplyft, Tricia is taking leave from now until her official retirement date later this year.
Tricia’s passion, drive and genuine want to help children and families saw her grow Uplyft, enabling it to deliver services that are inclusive, accessible and available across Australia, and her dedication will be missed.
Ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s cultural practices are included in, and help to guide, Uplyft practices was particularly important to Tricia. Her advocacy for the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural learning forms part of her legacy, as does her dedication and enthusiasm for education and inclusion.
“It has been such a privilege to have had the opportunities that Uplyft has provided me and I know it will continue to be a well-respected, innovative and committed organisation as new directions are explored.” ~ Tricia Murray AM, Uplyft Chief Executive Officer February 2004 – February 2022.
Tricia’s departure still sees Uplyft in capable hands, with its Chief Financial Officer of four years Liane Papaelias stepping into the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer as the search commences for the new CEO.
