With smaller groups of up to seven children, educators can give your child dedicated attention and create activities that nurture their unique strengths and interests. These close relationships also make it easier for educators to identify where further development may be needed, so they can work with your family to encourage your child’s growth.
Family day care is unlike other child care settings, in that you’ll find a mix of children of different ages from 0-12. In this setting, younger children rapidly develop their language and behavioural skills and older children build their sense of responsibility, leadership and empathy skills. This mixed-age learning allows each child to develop at their own pace, regardless of their age. Family day care is also an excellent option for siblings to be cared for together in the same environment.
Unlike many other care options, family day care gives you and your child more opportunity to form a close, trusted relationship with one educator. By gaining your child’s trust, your educator can increase their motivation and engagement in learning, while also ensuring they feel secure, safe and supported.
Family day care is offered in the educator’s home, providing a relaxed, familiar and secure setting where your child can explore and learn.
Our educators are experienced in creating safe, respectful relationships that build trust with the children in their care. All of our educators create their programming based on the Early Years Learning Framework or the My Time Our Place Framework for school aged children and operate in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2012. They receive ongoing support and training opportunities from Uplyft so that they can always provide the highest quality care to your children.
Family day care is available on weekdays, public holidays, weekends, evenings and overnight to support your family. This means your child can receive consistent care in a familiar environment, even if your schedule changes.
Uplyft recruits, registers, coordinates and supports a network of educators. Meet our educators and find one in your area.
Get in touch with your preferred educator directly to enquire about vacancies or ask for further information about fees and hours of operation.
Once your place is confirmed, you can ensure you and your child are prepared for family daycare by reading our family day care parent handbook and contacting your educator if you have any questions.
Educators are registered members of Wanslea Family Day Care. Fees are set by educators and can vary according to location, the educator's qualifications, the hours of care, and casual rates. However, the fee range is generally between $9-$15 per hour. Their individual fee schedules comply with our Service Fees Charged by Family Day Care Policy and are reviewed annually. Your educator will supply you with a current copy of their fee schedule.
Families are required to pay a Family Levy of $1.21 per child, per hour. The levy is capped at $44 per week.
